Steel production in China in January-February decreased by 3.6% compared to the same period last year, to 160.34 million tons, according to the country's State Statistical Office.
Pig iron production decreased by 2.7% and amounted to 137.7 million tons.
Steel production decreased by 1.1% to 221.2 million tons.
Steel exports in two months decreased by 8.1% and amounted to 15.59 million tons, while imports fell by 21.7% to 827 thousand tons.
As reported, by the end of 2025, steel production in China decreased by 4.4% to 960.81 million tons, which was the lowest volume in seven years.
