27.07.2026TMK presented its environmental strategy at the Ecotechnology Leaders Forum
The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has implemented more than 200 environmental protection measures during 2025. This was stated by Marianna Klimova, Chief Ecologist at TMK, during a speech at the III Forum of Environmental Technology Leaders, which was held in St. Petersburg.
Marianna Klimova presented the main directions of TMK's environmental strategy until 2036, formed based on the results of a comprehensive technological and environmental audit of all production sites. One of its key areas is the improvement of the industrial waste management system. The company is implementing a program to create a unified industrial waste management system, as well as developing a modern infrastructure for their safe disposal. An industrial waste landfill is being successfully operated at the Volzhsky Pipe Plant (VTZ, a branch of TMK), and a similar facility is being designed at the Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ, a branch of TMK).
The document also includes projects to reduce emissions into the atmosphere, protect water bodies, build modern sewage treatment plants, introduce automatic environmental control systems and the best available technologies. In addition, the company implements initiatives to preserve biodiversity and reforestation: it plants trees in the regions where it operates, participates in programs to restore populations of rare animal species, and develops the Carbon Farm climate project aimed at reducing carbon footprint through additional landscaping.
"TMK's environmental strategy is based on an integrated approach that combines the modernization of production, the introduction of modern environmental technologies and the improvement of the environmental management system. Last year, more than 200 environmental protection measures were implemented, and we consider environmental investments as a long-term contribution to the sustainable development of enterprises and regions of our presence. This approach allows us to consistently reduce the impact on the environment and ensure compliance with the requirements of environmental legislation," said Marianna Klimova.
The III Forum of Environmental Technology Leaders "From environmental innovations to green management: digital transformation, climate adaptation, responsible environmental management" was held as part of the National Award in the field of environmental technologies "ECOTECH LEADER 2026". TMK has repeatedly received this award for its environmental projects.
