According to the aforementioned agency, in 2021 in China, the number of accidents at coal mines and the number of deaths as a result of such accidents decreased by 15.8% and 13.9%, respectively, year on year.

Last year, the death rate for 1 million tonnes of coal was down 24% from 2020, and there have been no major gas accidents in coal mines over the past two years.
