ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih has updated its excavator fleet with two new Komatsu PC3000. Since August 2019, one of these excavators has been in operation around the clock in quarry No. 3. The second has also been delivered to the enterprise, it is currently being assembled, and from November it will be put into operation. According to the press service of the company, the company's expenses for the purchase of new equipment amounted to UAH 181 million.
The new Komatsu PC3000 hydraulic excavators will help increase the productivity of rock handling in the company's quarries. These are modern machines that are manufactured using advanced world technologies. There are not many similar units in Ukraine. They have a number of advantages: high maneuverability, low fuel consumption, the ability to operate in extremely adverse conditions, environmental friendliness of the power plant, ease of control, comfortable working conditions for personnel.
“These excavators are highly efficient and powerful. Thanks to its motor, this machine can do jobs that most other excavators cannot do. Key features of the engine include electronic controls that optimize fuel consumption. The excavator can load up to 3,000 tons per hour and is guaranteed to work 6,000 hours without breakdowns, ”says Thomas Amteij, engineer-trainer at Komatsu mining Germany GMBH.
Komatsu PC3000 excavators are equipped with everything necessary for efficient and trouble-free operation: a slewing platform and a crawler carriage made of high quality materials designed for work of increased complexity, an automatic parking brake for travel and slewing, an ice lighting system.
In addition to purchasing new equipment, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is also modernizing its mining and handling equipment. Over the past two years, two EKG-10 excavators with a bucket volume of 10 cubic meters each have been overhauled. Overhaul included both the purchase of new units, parts and assemblies, and the restoration of existing ones (repair of the boom, suspension, biped and rear struts, excavator movement mechanism, pneumatic system). These overhauls extend the life of the excavators by about 6 years. In 2019, the company's total investment in the purchase of new and restoration of existing mining equipment will exceed UAH 300 million.
