State in the formation of future energy policy needs to answer the question, when coal generation will completely disappear from the energy balance, because the latter must be generated by renewable energy sources (RES), accumulation capacity and heat generation on natural gas. About it on November 27 in Parliament, said Minister of energy and the environmental protection of Ukraine Alexey Orzhel.
"In the current energy balance remains coal generation. Indeed, due to this, we maintain the coal industry, but we need to speak clearly and frankly: when we have more coal generation?", - the Minister said.
Also, Ariel said that in the future energy mix will consist of renewable energy sources, storage facilities and thermal gas generation.
"the Future energy balance is a renewable energy, is accumulating power, and (in order to balance the system) is the gas generation. And so it is very important, considering that we is still dependent on import country, we must ensure that gas extraction", - said the Minister.
in addition, Ariel told MPs that renewable energy creates excessive financial burden on the electricity market, and therefore, a very important task is to balance its development, but it is important to maintain the investment climate and to give long-term signals to developers.
Earlier it was reported that Minamaneho of Ukraine is developing a long-term strategy of development of coal industry of the country, which provides for the reorganization or liquidation of unprofitable state-owned coal mines. The Ministry has already provedeny first consultation with the Directors of the state mines, which raised issues of cost of production of coal and expediency of the further existence of certain mines.
