In 2020, Metinvest allocated more than 2.6 billion hryvnia to implement environmental initiatives of the Ingulets plant. Thanks to investments, it was possible to reduce air emissions by 5.8% (compared to 2019).
Inguletsky GOK is implementing a comprehensive environmental program. This helps to reduce the impact on the environment. In the past year, a number of experiments have been carried out that have proven their effectiveness.
For the first time, rye was sown on the territory of the plant. 6.5 hectares were sown with cereals in the first stage of the tailing dump.
Among the innovations is an increase in the area of blocks, which is treated with a special reagent before the explosion. Now it is 21%, instead of 13%. The fixing agent itself was also replaced: ecologists use Lexol, not bischofite, as it was in 2019.
The company adheres to the schedule for watering roads and dusty surfaces. For this, 7 hydromonitors are used. And in the warm season, the plant rents two more units of equipment.
During the construction of the tailings dump maps, dry beach surfaces are fixed with a culture liquid - a mixture of rape seeds and nutrients (nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, organic polymers). And to secure the cards, the company began to use the eco-lock PG-100.
Employees of the environmental protection department are planting trees and bushes in the Ingulets microdistrict, the Ingulets industrial site, and also planting trees and shrubs in the Volny village.
Work continued with scientific organizations. An environmental audit is currently underway at Ingulets GOK, the results of which will be used to develop programs with the most rational solutions to reduce the impact on the environment.
