Ukraine is able to provide its own raw materials for sophisticated science-intensive technologies of modern production and strengthen its export potential, but for this it is necessary to simplify access to geological information and the mechanism for obtaining permits, says Roman Optimakh, Chairman of the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine.

Today, the development of deposits with deposits, in particular, lithium, zirconium and other minerals, requires large investments. In addition to funds, in Ukraine there are no modern technologies for the extraction and processing of ores to extract all useful mineral components from them.

According to the head of Gosgeonedr, only established cooperation with international companies with a powerful research and development and material base, which have experience in mining and possess modern processing technologies, will allow the development of such projects.

“There is a struggle for investments in the world. We must create such conditions for an investor to come to us, - says Roman Opimakh. - First of all, it concerns the simplification and modernization of the regulatory field. To this end, together with the deputies, we have developed legislative initiatives to improve legislation in the field of subsoil use. They also proposed changes to the National Program for the Development of the Mineral and Raw Materials Base until 2030, in particular, to increase reserves of critical and strategic minerals. The next step is to simplify access to geological information and introduce an electronic cabinet for a subsoil user. ”
