Ukrainian industrial company INTERPIPE carried out the first pipe deliveries to Qatar Petroleum, one of the largest oil producing companies in the Middle East.
Qatar Petroleum plans to use its products in the onshore fields of the Dukhan Field oil and gas basin.
Qatar's National Petroleum Company (NOC) specifies that the line pipes supplied must meet the most stringent sour service tier 3 to operate in a high hydrogen sulfide environment.
Pre-qualification of Interpipe products for Qatar Petroleum required more than three years of joint work in Qatar and Ukraine. The final stage was a detailed audit of the Company's factories for compliance with all specifications and technical requirements of the client. It was conducted by Bureau Veritas, an international inspection company nominated by Qatar Petroleum.
Andriy Burtsev, Sales Director of Interpipe pipes to the market of Ukraine, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East:
- The contract with Qatar Petroleum is an important milestone in the development of Interpipe in the Middle East. We went through a difficult and many years path of negotiations, audits and prequalifications before shipping the first pipes. The National Oil Company of Qatar is very selective and careful in its choice of suppliers, therefore, the start of cooperation with QP once again confirms INTERPIPE's reputation as a first-class and reliable supplier of pipes for the global flagships of the oil and gas business.
