At the production site in Naro-Fominsk, Moscow region, the wire is used in the manufacture of prestressed reinforced concrete sleepers. Such sleepers are necessary for the renovation of the tram infrastructure in Moscow and Yaroslavl.
The Beloretsk Metallurgical Plant produces high-strength wire Bp-1400 according to GOST 7348-81. Such a wire forms the power base of prestressed reinforced concrete products. By means of its tension in the structure, the necessary margin of safety is created in order for the tram tracks to withstand dynamic and repeated loads from the movement of urban rail transport.
During the overhaul of the Stroginsky Bridge in Moscow, it is planned to upgrade about 600 meters of tram tracks in both directions. This is a key section of the transport network in the north-west of the capital.
Currently, Yaroslavl is undergoing a comprehensive modernization of the tram network. By June 2026, the construction of tracks on three sections with a total length of 24.3 kilometers was completed. All major work on the linear facilities should be completed by the end of 2026. In total, more than 40 kilometers of tram tracks are planned to be put in order in Yaroslavl.
