The projects for the creation of a foundry and forging workshop and a workshop for machine-building products started in 2022, said Dmitry Kuryaev, director of the Mechanical Repair Complex. According to him, both plants will produce import-substituting products, including those that have no analogues in Russia. The construction of the Central heating plant and the Central heating plant is an important stage in the sustainable development of the MMK Group.

The foundry and forging workshop with a design capacity of more than 25 thousand tons per year (in the fourth year of the project's life - by 2029) is a full production cycle of forged work rolls for cold rolling mills and support rolls for cold and hot rolling, as well as spare parts from forgings, ingots weighing up to 120 tons and steel grade rolls. The volume of investments in the project will amount to 21.4 billion rubles, and the expected effect on EBITDA will be 3.3 billion rubles. The first stage of the project is planned to be completed by 2026, and the second by 2027.

The CMP will produce up to 10.4 thousand tons per year of machine-building products. Dump truck bodies, converter housings and support rings, steel trucks, slag trucks, cast iron trucks, casting buckets, mixers, dump trucks, domes of air heating furnaces, equipment for continuous casting machines and overhead cranes with a lifting capacity of more than 50 tons will be produced there. Basically, such products are currently being purchased abroad.
