The integration of weighing modules at a common control post started in 2024 as a pilot project in the hot rolling mill 1000/850/630 department of the large-grade crimping workshop (OCC). The new system allows the weigher to control three scales without unnecessary movements around the workshop – from one room, on which blanks are weighed in the OKC for further processing.
According to Kirill Nozdrovsky, deputy head of the Department of Automated process control systems, the company has automated the process of transmitting data to a common control post from three weighing modules, after weighing, the mass value is displayed in special factory programs.
Next, the technology was implemented in a sheet-rolling workshop. The division also combined three scales, which weigh the slabs coming from the OKC, rolled sheets and technological trimmings from mill 2000.
The technology optimizes the work of the weighers, the workshop specialists said.
