In November, Energomashspetsstal PJSC successfully accepted blanks for the reactor equipment of Unit 3 of the Akkuyu NPP (Turkey). The procedure took place with the participation of an inspector from the Nuclear Regulatory Agency of the Republic of Turkey (ANR, NDK).
Acceptance took place in accordance with the production plan and quality control at the site of the machining shop of PJSC "EMSS". Over the course of four days, a representative of the ANR, together with the company's specialists, carried out visual and measuring control of three blanks for the reactor vessel and the main circulation pump. The acceptance procedure passed without any remarks, which confirms the high quality of the manufactured products.
The shipment of the accepted goods is scheduled for the end of November. The batch will include two spheres weighing 14 tons each and a large-size shell weighing 125 tons, intended for the production of a reactor vessel.
The uniqueness of the product lies in its dimensions: the shell height is about 5 meters, the diameter is 4.7 m, the wall thickness is more than 20 cm. The large-sized billet was made from an ingot of 415 tons and forged on an automated forging complex of 15,000 tons. p>
The products manufactured at EMSS will be sent to the Customer first by special automobile and then by sea transport. The total weight of the batch will be 152.5 tons.
As a reminder, Energomashspetsstal has been supplying blanks for the first nuclear power plant in Turkey since 2016. During this time, the enterprise has manufactured hundreds of blanks for the reactor vessel, steam generator, pressure compensator, main circulation pumping unit (MCPU), main circulation pipeline and other equipment of the nuclear island for four units of the Akkuyu NPP.
