According to the results of the past year, Ukraine lost about half of its exports of iron ore, and in the first five months of this year, this figure continues to deteriorate.

In January-May of this year, the mining enterprises of Ukraine reduced the export of iron ore raw materials in physical terms by 55% compared to the same period last year, to 6.8 million tons. According to statistics published by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, for the specified period, foreign exchange earnings from the export of iron ore amounted to 752.472 million dollars.

Iron ore was exported mainly to Slovakia (29.08% of deliveries in monetary terms), the Czech Republic ( 25.06%) and Poland (21.42%).

As reported, Ukraine in 2022 reduced the export of iron ore in physical terms by 45.9% compared to 2021 - to 24 million tons , foreign exchange earnings decreased by 57.8% - to 2.9 billion dollars.

Recall that, according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian entrepreneurs the export of scrap metal was tripled, which caused an extremely negative reaction in the metallurgical lobby of the country.
