Ukraine climbed 55 positions in the ranking of attractiveness of green investments in a year

A year ago, Ukraine occupied the 63rd position, and already in 2019 it climbed 55 steps, namely, to the 8th place in the rating of investment attractiveness of "clean" energy among developing countries. This is stated in the annual report "Climatescope", prepared by the world-renowned research agency "Bloomberg New Energy Finance", reports the press service of the agency State Energy Efficiency Ukraine.

The report analyzes more than 100 countries around the world and their potential to attract green investments, as well as develop a green economy.

The first seven countries in the ranking are led by India, Chile, Brazil, China, Argentina, Jordan and Kenya.

“Today it is important to maintain a favorable climate for“ green ”investments in Ukraine while taking into account the needs of society. Therefore, the State Energy Efficiency continues to work on the legislative framework, in particular on initiatives to introduce competitive markets for liquid and solid biofuels, green bonds, ”commented Yuri Shafarenko, Director of the Agency's Renewable Energy Department.

The results of the report were also noted by Ruslana Lyzhychko, International Ambassador of Renewable Energy at the X International Investment Forum, but she noted that it will be impossible to maintain these positions without purposeful coordinated work.

Ruslana said that the country needs to implement not only the strategy of transition to "clean" energy, but also work on the formation of a new culture of energy consumption. Despite everything that is happening now in this area, Ukraine has opportunities and significant potential to achieve the goals.

In addition, Ruslana noted the importance of a broad explanatory work in this direction: “People should be well versed and navigate these issues so that no one imposes fakes on them.”
