In the framework of the program of advanced training of technological staff of the Converter shop at "Dnipro metallurgical plant" completed a pilot project "Academy of staleplavilnymi". As told at the enterprise, the graduates of the Academy successfully passed the exam and received a certificate of qualification and a certificate of successful completion of the program.
for ten weeks, line managers and personnel reserve of the three main sections of Converter shop – after the aggregate of the secondary metallurgy, the continuous casting and BOF vessels and increased the level of knowledge in the following areas: fundamentals of steelmaking, the dynamics of development and modern technologies of production of steel, BOF production, technology for secondary treatment of iron and steel, continuous casting machines, the quality of the finished products, the implementation of promising investment projects, metrological support of production, IT-technologies, automation of processes, environmental aspects, basics of lean manufacturing.
After studying each module, the students conducted a survey where participants gave full answers, led the discussion, gave examples of practical situations.
the Examination was conducted by solving the case study problems in groups. Participants disassembled a simulated industrial situation and, applying the acquired theoretical knowledge and found creative solutions.
the effectiveness of the proposed solution case study the task was assessed by the head of the Converter shop Denis Eskov and Professor, Dnieper state technical University (DSTU), doctor of technical Sciences Evgeny sigareva.
Welcoming the graduates "of the Academy of the steel industry", E. Sharlow noted that they all showed themselves to be experienced professionals who know their job and are ready to handle any task in the workplace. Also, the Professor expressed hope that the fruitful cooperation of DSTU and Dneprovsky iron and steel works will continue in the future, and metallurgists DMK will gain new knowledge and enhance their professional level.
