"ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" will continue the ecological modernization of the Converter shop. The company has signed a contract with Danieli Corus (Netherlands) for the reconstruction of gas cleaning installations of converters №№ 1-3.
Upgrade of gas cleaning of all six converters is one of the key environmental projects at the plant, whose total cost will exceed 135 million dollars. Of these, 65 million dollars the company has already invested in converters №№ 4-6: in 2015-2017 installed a new gas purification of the German company SMS Siemag. In addition, the water cooling system exhaust gas Converter in these three converters has been translated into a vicious cycle, which helped several times to reduce the consumption of treated water and electricity.
Similar projects will be implemented in the converters №№ 1-3. The new gas cleaning system will be installed in 2021-2022 years, the company will invest another approximately $ 70 million. After that, the dust emissions of the six converters is less than 50 mg/m3, which will help to reduce the burden on the environment.
currently, Danieli Corus is developing the basic engineering of the project, its representatives have already held technical talks with experts "ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog" sent for review package documentation. Directly in the BOF shop has already started the work of the specialist of the supplier, it will have a permanent workplace. Next year, Danieli Corus will start to prepare detailed engineering. Supply of equipment for the first of three gas treatment units is scheduled for January 2021. Stop for a reconstruction of the first of the three converters is planned for the end of 2021.
