ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih signed an agreement with Danieli Corus on the implementation of a project for the reconstruction of the converter gas cleaning system.
The company plans to carry out a complete modernization of the systems of three converters of the first block of the converter shop within 36 months.
As part of the reconstruction of gas purification systems, new RS-type scrubbers will be installed. This is a new concept in the context of basic oxygen steel production, but Danieli Corus has repeatedly used this type of scrubber to clean the top gas.
This represents a significant upgrade in terms of efficiency and maintenance requirements. This is a perfect example of the synergy created by combining the Danieli Linz BOF experience and the Danieli Corus pig iron experience under one roof, Danieli Corus' press service commented.
The project demonstrates ArcelorMittal's commitment to the sustainability of its factories around the world.
