The energy company DTEK is expanding its presence in the capital of Great Britain - London. According to the recently presented strategy, the company plans to expand into European energy markets, new renewable energy projects outside Ukraine, and also seeks to create an ecosystem to attract investment and innovative technologies to the new energy sector of our country.
The new office will be located in the business center of the city - the City of London, where the oldest banks, the largest investment and venture funds in Europe are concentrated. An Investment Hub will be created here, open for investors wishing to invest in Ukraine on the one hand, and for Ukrainian entrepreneurs who believe in the prospects of the Ukrainian energy industry and the potential of Ukraine.
“We are creating a hub to attract investments in new energy projects in Ukraine. This primarily concerns renewable energy sources, energy storage systems and energy projects using hydrogen. Together with the increase in gas production and the development of networks, these areas are identified as priorities in our strategy, presented in December 2020, ”said DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko.
DTEK has a corporate presence in the UK since 2013. Over the past three years, an international capital markets group has been operating in London, which manages investor relations, and in 2019 successfully organized a green Eurobond issue to finance DTEK's renewable energy projects in Ukraine.
The start of the investment hub is scheduled for the end of the first half of 2021, after overcoming the pandemic. Operational activities to attract investment to Ukraine in the UK will be carried out by a specially created company DTEK International Ltd.
DTEK is the leader and largest private investor in the energy industry in Ukraine. It is part of the SCM group of companies of the Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov.
