In 2020, compared to 2019, the volume of production increased in the production of food products, beverages and tobacco products by 5.2%, metallurgical production and production of finished metal products - by 6.0%.

The volume of industrial production of Donetsk region (excluding part of the temporarily occupied territory) in 2020 decreased by 3.8% compared to 2019.

The maximum decline in industrial production compared to the same period in 2019 was at the end of January-May 2020 and amounted to 13.2%. It was reduced due to a gradual recovery in demand, which declined amid the quarantine introduced in connection with the coronavirus pandemic. In addition, in November and December 2020, a significant increase was ensured compared to the same months of 2019, when there was a significant drop in production due to a deteriorating situation in the markets for the sale of ferrous metals and the repair of major metallurgical units, as well as a decrease in the load on the generating capacities of thermal power plants in the region from -for the import of electricity.

In December 2020, the total industrial production of the region increased by 7.0% compared to the previous month, and by 23.7% against December 2019.

The December production volume increased compared to November 2020 in the mining and quarrying industries by 3.1%, the production of coke and petroleum products - by 4.3%, metallurgical production and the production of finished metal products - by 5.5% , mechanical engineering - by 5.9%, production of chemicals and chemical products - by 6.1%, production, supply and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 9.8%.

In December 2020, compared to December 2019, product output increased in the production of coke and petroleum products by 8.3%, in the production of rubber and plastic products, other non-metallic mineral products - by 11.4%, in the production of chemicals and chemical products - by 13.7%, metallurgical production and production of finished metal products - by 20.5%, mining and quarrying - by 35.9%, production, supply and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 69 , 9%.

In 2020, compared to 2019, the volume of production increased in the production of food products, beverages and tobacco products by 5.2%, metallurgical production and production of finished metal products - by 6.0%.

In 2020, the production output in the production, supply and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air decreased by 5.3%, in the production of rubber and plastic products, other non-metallic mineral products - by 5.7%, in the production of coke and products oil refining - by 6.3%, the production of chemicals and chemical products - by 7.5%, mining and quarrying - by 10.7%, mechanical engineering - by 14.1%, textile production, clothing, leather, products from leather and other materials - by 33.9%.

Production of raw coal in 2020 amounted to 10.6 million tons, which is 17.5% less than in 2019. The volume of hard coal, including shipped raw coal and beneficiation products, decreased by 10.5% and amounted to 9.5 million tons.

Annual electricity production amounted to 12.8 billion kWh, which is 10.4% less than in 2019.
