Since the beginning of February, the price of oil on the European market has increased by 14%, or $ 7-8 per barrel. When comparing the average prices for the first two weeks of February relative to the average price in January, we have an increase of 9% or $ 5 per barrel, so the uptrend continues on the market.
Following the rise in oil prices on the European market, there is a further rise in prices for oil products. Diesel fuel increased in price by 9% or USD 40 per ton, and gasoline by 8% or USD 41 per ton, which, taking into account the average NBU exchange rate for the corresponding period, taking into account excise tax and VAT, is plus 1300 and plus 900 hryvnias per ton, respectively. Thus, the change in the cost of diesel fuel and A-95 gasoline on the European market provides prerequisites for an increase in prices on the domestic wholesale market of Ukraine by plus 1.1 hryvnia per liter for diesel fuel and by 0.7 hryvnia per liter for gasoline A- 95 relative to January average prices.
If we compare the prices for diesel fuel and for gasoline on the European market for two weeks, the price increase was 12-14%, or 62 and 65 US dollars per ton, respectively. That, taking into account the average NBU exchange rate as of the dates, taking into account the excise tax and VAT, is plus 2200 hryvnia per ton for gasoline and plus 1800 hryvnia per ton for diesel fuel, which in recalculation gives plus 1.5-1.6 hryvnia per liter of probable rise in price in wholesale until the end of the month.
