A documentary film about Ukrainian miners and industrial music of large quarry machines is shot by young directors, graduates of the French film academy La Fеmis. The powerful "BELAZ" cars of Kryvbas, of course, could not fail to attract the attention of European documentary filmmakers.
The Pervomaisky quarry of the Northern GOK has become the filming site for the film with the tentative title "Earth". Here, in one of the largest quarries in Europe for the extraction of ferruginous quartzite, the main transport load is carried by the most demanded dump trucks in Krivoy Rog - 130-ton BELAZ-7513 series.
The film will show the entire technological process - from ore mining to the production of finished products. Together with the video of the production process of ore mining, the film crew recorded the characteristic sounds of the work of BELAZ trucks, excavators, and even the noise of the movement of rocks in the quarry. On the basis of these audio materials, composers will create music for a film, the main characters of which will be the miners of SevGOK - belaz workers, drillers, excavators ...
“From above, the huge BELAZs in the quarry look very small, but the person is not visible at all. You can only hear the sounds of technology. This gives the false impression that everything here is made by machines. Therefore, in the film, we will try to answer the question - "Where does it all start - from a car or still from a person," emphasized one of the directors Alena Zagurovskaya.
The directors noted that it was the first time they filmed at a mining enterprise, so familiarity with the production processes predetermined the genre of the future film.
“For Severny GOK, this is the first experience of working with filmmakers from Europe. The film tells about courageous mining professions, about people who are in love with their work and successfully manage powerful equipment. The leading specialists of the plant's workshops advised the directors and helped during the filming, so our guests from France managed to collect all the necessary material in order to realize their ideas, to show the scale of the mining industry and the processing complex. I am sure that this new topic in cinema will interest the viewer and bring the team a victory in European festivals, ”said Andrey Skachkov, General Director of Severny GOK.
According to the idea of French documentary filmmakers, the tape, the editing of which is planned to be completed by September 2021, has been nominated for participation in European film festivals.
