Metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine in January-June of this year increased steel production, according to preliminary data of the branch association "Ukrmetallurgprom", by 7.5% to 10.859 million tons.
Production of finished rolled metal products increased in the first half of 2021 by 6.6% compared to the same period last year - to 9.625 million tons. Commercial pig iron production increased by 8.1% to 10.790 million tons.
In June of this year, Ukraine produced 1.602 million tons of finished rolled products, 1.872 million tons of steel, 1.887 million tons of pig iron, while in the previous month - 1.626 million tons of rolled products, 1.850 million tons of steel, 1.830 million tons of pig iron.
Recall that at the end of 2020, Ukrainian metallurgical plants increased the production of general rolled steel by 0.7% compared to the previous year - to 18.344 million tons, reduced the production of raw steel by 1.4% - to 20.549 million tons and increased production of commercial pig iron by 1.5%, up to 20.358 million tons.
