For a stable passage of the heating season 2021-2022, enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of Ukraine must resolve the issue of gas debts as soon as possible. This was stated by Deputy Energy Minister Maxim Nemchinov, commenting on the adoption by the Verkhovna Rada of the law on amendments to some laws of Ukraine regarding the settlement of debts for consumed energy resources of heat supply and heat generating organizations, centralized water supply and sewerage enterprises.
“We must ensure the stable passage of the heating season, in particular, take care of a stable heat supply to our citizens. Therefore, we appeal to local administrations and enterprises of teplokommunenergo regarding acceleration of the process of verification of debts for gas. After all, the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex will be able to change their gas supplier only after a complete solution of debt issues. Changing the supplier, in turn, is important for stable heat supply and the establishment of fair heat tariffs for the population - these functions have recently been transferred to the local level, "- said Maxim Nemchinov.
The ministry recalled that the powers to set tariffs were transferred to the local level by the resolution of the NKREKP "On Approval of Amendments to the Licensing Conditions for Economic Activities in the Sphere of Heat Supply" dated June 9, 2021.
