According to the OP Ukrmetallurgprom, in January-June 2021, the capacity of the domestic market of Ukarina amounted to 2,254.6 thousand tons of rolled metal, of which 468.6 thousand tons, or 20.78%, accounted for imports. In January-June 2020, the capacity of the domestic market was 2,135.7 thousand tons, of which 531.7 thousand tons, or 24.90%, were imported. Thus, for 6 months of 2021, there is an increase in the capacity of the domestic market for rolled metal products by 5.57% compared to January-June 2020, while the share of the import component has decreased by 4.11%.
In general, in January-June 2021, Ukrainian metallurgical enterprises produced 9.63 million tons of rolled metal (106.57% relative to January-June 2020), of which, according to V.S.K. GROUP, about 7 were exported , 84 million tons, or 81.4%. For 6 months of 2020, the share of exports amounted to 82.2% (7.43 million tons with a total production of 9.03 million tons of rolled metal).
The share of semi-finished products in export deliveries for 6 months of 2021 accounted for 46.39%, which is lower than the indicator for the same period in 2020 (49.04%). The share of flat products in export deliveries in January-June 2021 is noticeably higher than in January-June 2020 (37.95% and 32.88%, respectively). The structure of Ukrainian steel imports in January-June 2021 is characterized by a significant domination of flat products over long products (55.61% and 42.15%, respectively); in the same period of 2020, the dominance of flat products over long products was somewhat less (53.47% and 44.84%, respectively).
The main export markets of Ukrainian metal products in January-June 2021, according to V.S.K. GROUP, are the countries of the European Union (32.8%), other European countries (23.3%) and South American countries (10.5%).
