The State Ecological Inspectorate of Ukraine has completed an unscheduled inspection of the country's largest metallurgical enterprise, PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, having recorded violations of environmental legislation.
According to him, during the control event at the enterprise, the absence and malfunction of gas cleaning equipment at production facilities, emissions of pollutants without cleaning at blocks No. 1 and No. 2, disruption of the operation of the electrostatic precipitator at blast furnace No. 6, as well as a number of other violations were revealed related to violation of environmental legislation. Now the specialists of the State Environmental Inspectorate are calculating losses for detected violations in order to present the enterprise with an amount for voluntary compensation. Recall that ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih plans to invest more than $ 600 million in the development of the company in 2021-2023, plus investments in environmental modernization will amount to about $ 1 billion.
