Dozens of schoolchildren took part in the military-patriotic training camp at the Byngi airfield

Nevyansk urban district (Sverdlovsk region)

Training camps for military-patriotic associations from the cities of UMMC presence were held at the Byngi airfield near Nevyansk. From August 10 to August 15, more than 40 schoolchildren from different regions of the country trained to land from planes, looked for layouts of mines, fired and stormed mountain peaks.

Children from Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Orenburg and Sverdlovsk regions came to the training camp. All of them study in cadet classes, are members of youth army units or military-patriotic clubs in their cities. For five days, the participants lived in a field camp and mastered military applied disciplines in conditions as close as possible to combat ones. The Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company has been organizing such a camp for schoolchildren for the second year in a row.

- This is the next stage of the programs that we are implementing. On May 9, whole military-patriotic detachments from different cities of the company's presence, as well as from Tatarstan, come to us. The most distinguished guys go to training camps, where they are taught the same thing as real soldiers. Schoolchildren live a slice of real military life. Children are very interested, they are happy to study, - said Vladimir Beloglazov, Director for General Issues of the UMMC.

Young patriots took part in mini-battles in full protective gear with rifles and camouflage. To make the "military" actions more spectacular, the organizers used smoke bombs and firecrackers. Next to the boys, the young defenders of the Fatherland defended the territory no less bravely.

- They say that girls are even tougher than boys! - says Arina Tsargush, a pupil of the Verkhnepyshminsky club "Guard of the Urals". - For example, I like to assemble and disassemble a Kalashnikov assault rifle. I tried dancing and music, but I realized that military training is more to my liking.

In the field camp, schoolchildren underwent special and high-altitude training. The detachments "landed" on the roof of the airfield and from there courageously descended to the ground along the cables. The cadets and junior soldiers learned to work in a team, navigate the terrain and help conditionally wounded comrades. Special attention was paid to medical training.

- There can be any situation in life. And as practice shows, our children are able to provide first aid in the event of an emergency, while adults are not. Schoolchildren will simply know how to bandage a wound. Terrain orientation is also very important. For example, if a child gets lost in the forest, he will know how to survive and find a way out. At the training camp, participants from different cities get to know each other, share their experiences and then continue to communicate, - said the director of the "Guard of the Urals" Andrey Terleev.

A separate training course on working with children was attended by teachers and leaders of military-patriotic clubs from the cities of UMMC presence. Master classes were conducted by instructors of the sports-patriotic Club "Guard of the Urals" - one of the strongest in the Sverdlovsk region. There are over 120 children in it today. They regularly become prize-winners of regional and all-Russian competitions in military-applied sports. The club is the champion of the Sverdlovsk region in army hand-to-hand combat and Dynamo hand-to-hand combat. Since 2018, the "Guard of the Urals" has been implementing a program for the development of civil society with the support of the President of the Russian Federation in the direction of patriotic education of youth in the Sverdlovsk region.
