PJSC Severstal was included in the jury of the International Championship of Technological Strategy “Metal Cup. 4th Industrial Revolution ”, the final of which was held in Krasnoyarsk from September 16 to 19, 2019.
MetalCup is the only international championship in Russia in solving cases and real technological problems in the metallurgical industry. This year the theme of the championship was the 4th industrial revolution. Participants and experts considered a whole range of issues related to the digitalization of metallurgy, industrial waste and their processing, the creation of new types of products, etc.
This year, 11 teams from all over the world took part in the final competitions of the championship. Their solutions were evaluated by 19 experts from the world's leading universities, as well as representatives of the largest metallurgical companies in the Russian Federation, among which was Severstal. In particular, Konstantin Gondalev, Head of the Technological Development Center of Severstal's Repairs Directorate, took part in the final projects, and Daniil Kiselev, Head of the Flat Rolling Shop No. 2 of the Cherepovets Steel Mill, presented the company's career opportunities at the HR Road show.
The winner of the championship was the team from China, the second place was the national team of Jamaica, the third place was the national team of the Philippines. In addition to the prizes, the best teams in several categories were awarded. In the nomination "Technology" the victory was won by Jamaica, "Economy" - China, "Innovation" - Brazil, "Perspektivytransfer" - POU RF "Russia-2", "Presentation" - the Philippines.
Also, as a result of the championship, participants The jury signed a memorandum "On the development of the international movement of young metallurgists." This document will become the basis for further joint work to improve the quality and level of education.
