Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk Region)
Production of steel structures (PSK) JSC "Uralelectromed" (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC) in September this year galvanized a record 4700 tons of metal structures. This exceeded the average monthly figure by 200-300 tons.
According to Andrey Myslyaev, head of the Uralelectromed PSC JSC, a high rate of hot-dip galvanizing services was achieved due to effective marketing work aimed at increasing customer-supplied raw materials, and also the introduction of lean manufacturing principles in the hot-dip galvanizing department.
In the galvanizing of products, the main line for large-sized structures and an automated line of small products, which have no analogues in Russia, were involved. Power transmission poles, road fences, metal poles for urban infrastructure and electrical wiring products were protected from corrosion.
- We optimized the technological process using the 5S system - we improved the lifting and transmission equipment. As a result, the load on the traverse, where the products are hung, increased at one time from 1.2 to 1.6 tons, - noted Alexander Larkin, head of the hot-dip galvanizing department of PSK.
The hot-dip galvanizing department of PSK is equipped with modern technological equipment of three well-known world manufacturers: “Westech” (USA), “KÖrer” (Austria), “W.Pillig” (Germany), which makes it possible to galvanize metal structures with overall dimensions 12.5х1.4х3.2 and weighing up to 3 tons with a thickness of zinc coatings from 40 to 200 microns. Before applying a zinc layer, the product undergoes special preparation: degreasing, pickling, washing, fluxing, drying.
Hot-dip galvanizing production of Uralelectromed JSC is approved by Lloyd ̉s Register Quality Assurace for compliance with the quality management system ISO 9001: 2008 ; Awarded with a silver medal at the Metal-Expo international exhibition.
