In the chemical and metallurgical shop of Uralelectromed JSC (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex), the second kiln manufactured by Outotec (Finland) was put into operation. The capacity of the unit for processing raw materials amounted to 2.6 tons of sludge per day.
According to the chief engineer of Uralelectromed JSC Alexey Korolev, the complex operation of two furnaces at the sludge firing site will allow the company to efficiently process raw materials containing precious metals, and in general, increase the productivity of the chemical and metallurgical shop (CMC).
- With the help of kilns, we will be able to reduce the melting time in existing reverberatory furnaces by 20% and increase the output of both precious metals and rare metals - selenium and tellurium , - he emphasized.
Pre-Finnish specialists of the company“ Outotec ”checked the quality of assembly of units and parts of the furnace, and then the functioning of all furnace systems. A new 13-tonne furnace was delivered to Uralelectromed from Finland disassembled. To install it, a part of the wall of the workshop building at an elevation of +8.0 meters was dismantled, an overpass was built, to which the unit was lifted with a crane with a lifting capacity of 300 tons.
- The difficulty was the presence of a large number of pipelines in the immediate vicinity from the place of work. The installation of the furnace was carried out by the contracting organization SMU-1 LLC, whose specialists already had experience in lifting the first kiln, - said Mikhail Verkhovets, chief specialist of the capital construction department of Uralelectromed JSC.
The costs of the enterprise for the implementation of the second stage of the sludge firing section amounted to about 87 million rubles, including the cost of equipment - 73 million rubles. rub. (furnace and substation) and construction and installation work - 14 million rubles.
- Since 2016, Uralelectromed JSC has been implementing a project for the technical re-equipment of the sludge processing department (OPS) of the KhMTs, - says the head of the chemical and metallurgical workshop Timur Gibadullin. - During this period of time, the first kiln was installed, supplied by the company "Bosio" (Slovenia), a liquid oxygen gasifier was installed to intensify the selenium oxidation process, a ventilation and fire alarm system was installed, a network of technological pipelines was built, a comprehensive automation of the process was introduced and an operator's room was organized .
In addition, the increase in the number of energy-intensive equipment required the installation new transformer substation. As a result, the total electric power, taking into account the two substations, increased to 2600 kVA. With the launch of the new substation, the safety of power supply has increased. If earlier the existing 1600 kVA substation supplied both the refinery and the OPSh, now each substation is "responsible" for its own section.
