TMK supports career guidance forum for young IT professionals

Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has become a partner of the largest digital student forum in the Urals, Pik IT. The event was held at the site of the Ural Federal University (UrFU), where more than 2,000 future specialists and leading employers of the region gathered.

TMK's participation in the event was organized by TMK2U Corporate University and TMK++ corporate IT cluster. The company's representatives helped the participants navigate the professional track, talked about the development of digital trends at TMK, about the most in-demand competencies in the industry and how to build their way in the world of big data. The guests of the TMK booth used a chatbot to solve puzzles and non-standard tasks, and on a training simulator using virtual reality technology they tried themselves as supervisors of the technical control department (OTK), checking the parameters of threaded connections.

Alexey Ostrovsky, head of the Virtual and Augmented Reality Competence Group at the TMK++ Digital Technology Center, conducted a master class for students in which he demonstrated how game mechanics help solve serious production problems, and game design skills become an important advantage in industry. Today, training simulators with augmented and virtual reality technology are used in pipe production to train personnel, while digital doubles allow you to simulate any processes, and simulators make work safer.

"For us, cooperation with UrFU is not a one—time action, but part of TMK's systemic strategy for the development of young talents. It is important for companies to find not just people with technical skills, but passionate young professionals who are interested in creating real digital products for industry. Peak IT gives us a unique opportunity to see this interest and help talented people take their first steps in the profession," said Elena Pozolotina, TMK's Deputy General Director for Human Resources Management.

During the event, the company's representatives collected more than 750 questionnaires from students and young professionals. The most interested participants will be able to complete internships in the future and possibly become part of the TMK++ team. TMK supports career guidance forum for young IT professionals
