Seversky Pipe Plant (STZ), a branch of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), won the 2025 Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) Award for achievements in the field of product and service quality.
STZ became eligible to participate in an international competition after being awarded the Russian Government's Quality Award in 2018. The selection of laureates within the framework of the CIS Prize took place in two stages. At first, the applicants were evaluated by experts from Roskachestvo, then a commission of experts from the national bodies for standardization, metrology and certification of the Commonwealth member states worked at the enterprise. Experts noted the merits of the plant in providing an effective management system that promotes the production of high-quality and competitive products.
"TMK is implementing a large-scale program aimed at improving product quality. We are introducing modern non-destructive testing equipment, improving the corporate quality management system and technological processes, and conducting thematic "Quality Weeks", during which workshops, meetings with employees, profile meetings and other events are held at factories. The recognition of our management system at the interstate level has confirmed the effectiveness of the measures being implemented," said Vyacheslav Gagarinov, TMK's Deputy General Director for Quality.
"Managers at all levels of the plant showed active involvement in the evaluation process and demonstrated high professionalism in their interaction with the expert commission. Thanks to an independent assessment, we have seen our strengths and identified possible growth points in order to continue providing customers with high—quality products," said Dmitry Markov, Managing Director of STZ.
The CIS Award for Achievements in the field of product and service quality is awarded to the best organizations of the CIS member states for achieving significant results in this field, the introduction of innovative technologies and modern management methods. The competition has been held every two years since 2006. In 2023, the Volga Pipe Plant (VTZ), which is also a branch of TMK, became his diploma holder.
