TMK Neftegazservice (TMK NGS), part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), has switched to a new dynamic waste management and accounting system. This made it possible to double the amount of recycled resources, reduce environmental risks and achieve an annual economic effect of more than 27 million rubles.
As part of the project, a digital register of waste accumulation sites (INR) was developed for 61 TMK NGS production sites, indicating the location, type of INR, characteristics and list of waste allowed for disposal. The categories of waste and by-products produced that have commercial value on the market were also analyzed, which made it possible to increase the share of their sale for reuse.
In 2025, thanks to the project, the economic effect from the sale of scrap metal amounted to more than 20 million rubles, by—products - about 5 million rubles, secondary resources — about 2 million rubles. In two years, the volume of waste involved in recycling has doubled, and the share of waste placed on specialized sites has decreased by 1.7 times.
"The management system modernization project is a prime example of work that helps achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and achieve concrete and measurable results. We have built a self—regulating, transparent system that allows us to plan the production of waste and by-products, and preserve their consumer properties by selecting secondary resources and creating special conditions," said Evgeny Gaas, CEO of TMK NGS.
The project will continue to be implemented in 2026. In particular, it is planned to introduce a waste accounting system at the time of its formation, as well as involve 25 new types of by-products in secondary turnover.
