Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) participated in a strategic session on the development of industrial tourism in the Sverdlovsk region. The organizers were the Department for the Development of Tourism and the Hospitality Industry of the region in partnership with the Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI).
The event brought together representatives of the regional government, industrial enterprises and the tourism business in order to share experiences and develop a regional vector for the development of industrial tourism. Anna Trepalova, Head of TMK's Industrial Tourism Department, Alyona Guseva, Head of the Severskaya Blast Furnace Museum Complex at the Seversk Pipe Plant (STZ), and Alyona Guseva, Head of the Documentation and Event Management Department at the Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ) Oksana Kirpishchikova participated in the formation of proposals for a regional strategy for the development of industrial tourism in several areas: the creation of travel brands, end-to-end routes, measures to support and develop the industry.
On the second day, ASI experts visited the STZ, taking part in an excursion along the route "Metallurgy through the ages: from the iron hammer to the digital plant". They saw a blast furnace and industrial equipment from the middle of the 19th century, as well as modern pipe-rolling production.
"TMK demonstrates successful practices of organizing industrial tourism routes at its enterprises. Each of the routes has its own unique features. In the Sverdlovsk region, factory tours combine immersion in their history and high-tech manufacturing. For us, participation in the ASI strategic session is an opportunity to share our expertise for the benefit of the development of this sphere and the formation of a positive image of the Russian metallurgical industry," said Anna Trepalova.
Today, the tourism infrastructure operates at four TMK enterprises. The PNTZ and STZ sightseeing routes combine visits to corporate museums and existing production facilities. At the Volzhsky Pipe (VTZ) and Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling (ChelPipe) plants, guests are introduced to high-tech pipe production through the prism of industrial design of workshop spaces. Industrial tourism is also developing at other enterprises of the company: Orsk Machine-building (OMZ), Sinarsky Pipe (SinTZ) and Taganrog Metallurgical (TAGMET) plants, as well as at TMK Steel Technologies. In 2025, TMK hosted more than 55,000 tourists at its sites.
