The corporate museums of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) hosted more than 2,000 guests at events dedicated to the International Museum Day. The Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ) Museum and Exhibition Center hosted the "From the entrance to the garage" event, and the "Severskaya Blast Furnace" Museum Complex located on the territory of the Seversk Pipe Plant (STZ) opened its doors to everyone with a special program for the Year of Ural Rock.
As part of the "From the entrance to the Garage" program, an exhibition of retro cars created in collaboration with the Pervouralsk Automobile Club was presented at the PNTZ Museum and Exhibition Center and the adjacent park. The project allowed the guests to plunge into the atmosphere of a time when a car was not just a means of transportation, but a symbol of freedom, a dream and a source of special pride.
The exhibition includes retro cars, as well as stands with memoirs of the owners of the legendary cars — PNTZ employees, materials from family and factory archives. Special attention in the project was paid to the industrial connection of PNTZ with the automotive industry and the history of the origin of motorsport in Pervouralsk, which was actively developing with the financial support and direct participation of the company's employees.
As part of the program of the Severskaya Domna Museum Complex, entrance to the museum was free for all guests, and sightseeing tours of the museum's historical locations — the blast furnace shop and the 19th-century cricket factory - were held for visitors. There was also an exhibition of motorcycles of Ural motorcycle clubs on the street museum grounds, a rock concert of musical groups from Yekaterinburg and Kirovgrad was held in the blast furnace workshop, and a personal exhibition of the young artist Ivan Konin "Three Sides of the Horizon" with works in the genre of realistic painting was opened in the exhibition hall.
"By organizing such programs, TMK strives to combine industrial heritage and historical memory with modern cultural trends. The company sees its goal in making corporate museums the centers of attraction for the residents of the region, and their leisure time informative, inspiring and accessible. The annual increase in the number of guests — for example, this year's Night of Museums at the PNTZ Museum and Exhibition Center was attended by five times more guests than in the past - confirms that we are achieving this goal," said Anna Trepalova, Head of TMK's Industrial tourism department.
International Museum Day is celebrated annually on May 18. In honor of the holiday, many museum institutions operate free of charge for visitors and present various creative programs. TMK's events for the International Museum Day were attended by about 2 thousand people.
