As part of the celebration of its 25th anniversary, the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) held the VIII open corporate championship of professional skills "Games of Masters" at venues in the Volgograd and Sverdlovsk regions. More than 300 people took part in the competitions in 22 competencies.
The championship is organized by TMK2U Corporate University. Its events are held at the Volzhsky (VTZ), Seversky (STZ) and Sinarsky (SinTZ) pipe plants, Pervouralsky Novotrubny (PNTZ) plants, as well as at the V. I. Nazarov Polevskoye Multidisciplinary Technical College, which is a partner of the company within the framework of the federal project "Professionalism", and on the campus of the Ural Federal University (UrFU).
The largest number of participants performed in the competencies "Crane operator and slinger", "Repairman", "Electrical installation", "Turning", "Welding technologies", "Labor protection" and "Pipe and billet cutter". The competence "Automated workplaces of a manufacturing enterprise" has become new this year. The participants compete in two age categories: "Master's Hands" (for contestants under the age of 28) and "Golden Hands" (for participants aged 29 and older).
The level of professional training of the contestants was assessed by expert commissions, which included specialists from TMK and other industrial enterprises, as well as representatives of the educational sector. Among the participants are employees of TMK branches, students of secondary specialized educational institutions—partners of the company, as well as employees of other industrial enterprises. Within the framework of the championship, a business program was organized — TMK top managers and partners shared their experiences with the contestants, and a master class on teamwork was also held.
"Production competencies are the foundation of TMK, and training in them is one of the key vectors of efforts in the field of personnel management for the company. At the "Games of Masters", employees evaluate their professional level, the degree of its compliance with high industry standards, and share relevant experiences with colleagues from other branches. The program of the championship meets the current demands of the industry — for example, competence in working with automated enterprise systems has been added to the competition block. The desire to participate and win the championship is a strong motivating factor that allows us to improve the level of professionalism and efficiency of our employees through intensive training," said Elena Pozolotina, TMK's Deputy General Director for Personnel Management.
