JSC "Shadrinsk Automobile Unit Plant" completed the modernization of the compressor station. At the end of 2018, the third turbocharger ZH-500-7 manufactured by the Swedish concern Atlas Copco was added to the two previously installed compressors ZH-10000-3-7 and GA-110, and in February 2019, an automated equipment control system based on the program “ Optimizer-4 ".
- The main advantage of the new equipment is that the compressor performance can be regulated, the built-in computer controller selects the most economical operating mode. This makes it possible to efficiently use the compressor facilities and supply the required amount of compressed air to the workshops without dumping excess air into the atmosphere, - explained Vladimir Andryushchenko, chief power engineer of SHAAZ JSC.
The purchase of the equipment was preceded by detailed inspections carried out by the UMMC energy supervision. The result was a program of measures to optimize the consumption of compressed air at SHAAZ JSC. The compressor control system was designed and supplied by the Ural Prom company from Yekaterinburg. The equipment was assembled by specialists of ShAAZ JSC, adjustment was carried out by the engineers of Atlas Copco, the compressor manufacturer.
According to Vladimir Andryushchenko, the control system is currently operating in automatic mode. For control and monitoring, the data are sent to the computer of the compressor unit operator and to the department of the chief power engineer. This allows the load of the compressors to be controlled within the pressure range and to provide the required flow at the lowest energy cost. In 2018 alone, due to the modernization of the compressor facilities, SHAAZ JSC saved more than 730 thousand rubles of electricity.
