Shadrinsk Automotive Aggregate Plant JSC (ShAAZ, an enterprise of the UMMC machine-building complex) has certified another modernized diesel locomotive for compliance with the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR TS 001/2011) "On safety railway rolling stock ". The TGM6-UMMC locomotive has successfully passed the procedure. This is the third locomotive modernized at ShAAZ, which received a "pass" on the way of Russian Railways. Previously, the TEM2-UMMC and TGM4B-UGMK models were certified.
- Certificate for a period of five years issued by the Federal State Unitary Enterprise “The Register of Certification in Federal Railway Transport. The document states that the service life of the modernized diesel locomotives of the TGM6-UMMC series is extended to sixty years from the date of construction of the base diesel locomotive. That is, after the modernization, the owner can legally operate the locomotives for several more decades, - said Alexander Papirovsky, Deputy Technical Director for Modernization of Diesel Locomotives of SHAAZ JSC.
The Shadrinsky Automotive Aggregate Plant is currently the only manufacturer in Russia that has received certificates for modernized diesel locomotives with service life extension. At present, locomotives of other series are also undergoing certification for compliance with the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union. In particular, in the accredited laboratories of the Research and Design Technological Institute of Rolling Stock, as well as the All-Russian Research Institute of Railway Hygiene, tests of a new diesel locomotive TEM2N-UMMC are being completed, and soon experts will conduct an audit of the production site of ShAAZ JSC.
Recall that the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union is the main document that defines the requirements for rolling stock and the safety of its operation on the territory of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The document entered into force on August 2, 2017. From this moment on, all rolling stock must be certified for compliance with TR CU.
