the chemical and metallurgical shop (CMC) of JSC "Uralelectromed" (metallurgical complex of UMMC) has completed the overhaul of a reverberatory furnace number 1 – the main equipment processing sludge. The event was held in the framework of the development of the business system of the enterprise. The new renovations have managed to reduce the duration of the repairs to the furnace for 7 shifts.
This figure we achieved for the first time in many years of practice carrying out capital repairs. As a result, we will be able to increase output of the metal and thus obtain additional profit, according to preliminary calculations, more than 10 million rubles, - said the head of the CMC Arsene Musin.
As told in the workshop, based on the analysis of the repair cycle, it was determined that major time losses occur during the removal of the masonry and installation of furnace casing. With a view to their reduction, it was decided part of the work done in parallel, without disrupting the repair technology and requirements of labor protection and industrial safety. In accordance with the plan, excluding the number of outages in the period of set of the masonry oven and installation of steel structures, the main elements of the furnace were installed in 10 days, which allowed us to run the furnace in 2 days (corresponding to 7 shifts) previously planned date.
Note that the overhaul of a reverberatory furnace CMC takes place every two years. First, dismantling of steel structures and furnace lining, then technological cleaning of gas ducts and gas cleaning equipment. The final stage is the installation of the metal frame of the furnace and the masonry lining. In the process of repair was attended by the employees of chemical-metallurgical shop of centralized repair shop of JSC "Uralelektromed" and contractors "Uraldomnaremont". The new scheme overhaul will be used in the shop on a regular basis.

Reverberatory furnace used in the plant for the production of silver-gold alloy "doré". One melting electrolytic copper slime is made within 5-6 days. Then the alloy is sent to the refining Department of the plant for further processing and production of final product – gold and silver bullion.
