A domestically produced mobile spray booth has been commissioned for the production of steel structures at Uralelectromed JSC (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex). Its main advantage over stationary areas is the high mobility and safety of the painters. The cost of the camera was 9 million rubles. According to the head of the production of steel structures (PSK) Vitaly Kotlov, the spray booth made it possible to improve working conditions for workers in the painting department and to increase the productivity of painting metal structures.
- It is convenient primarily for those who which allows you to paint metal products as quickly as possible without losing the high quality of painting, - he noted.
The painting booth is a technological equipment that consists of nine sectional painting booths, a powerful hood with a built-in filter, lighting systems and a fire security. The units are controlled automatically using a special program.
“The camera is very convenient and easy to maintain,” says Mikhail Zykov, the PSK painter. - Today I have to paint gray about 3 tons of metal structures per shift. Together with the slingers, we installed the parts in groups. Then I turn on the camera on the control panel, and the operation modes of the fans and the lighting system are shown to me on the touch screen. After painting the first group of products, I turn on the pneumatic cylinders, due to which the camera rises and now it can be moved on the platform using wheels to another group of prepared parts.
Painters paint products using portable airless spraying devices. The work uses two-component or ground paint mixtures. The powerful exhaust system of the chamber ensures the absence of an aggressive environment during work, and sectional curtains retain heat and prevent dust from the ambient air.
At the moment, the PSK is painting the crane beams, support tables and ties for the third stage of construction copper electrolysis workshop. At the same time, metal structures are being painted for Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant PJSC and Siberia-Polymetals JSC - both enterprises are part of the UMMC structure.
PSK painters paint about 10 tons of metal structures per day.
