The largest in the region Center for Demonstration Exams according to World Skills standards has opened today in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The modern complex is organized on the site of the Verkhnepyshminsky Mechanical and Technological College "Yunost". The opening ceremony of the Center was attended by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev, the General Director of the UMMC Andrey Kozitsyn, the Minister of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region Yuri Biktuganov.
“The Ural Engineering School program is being implemented in the Sverdlovsk Region. I am glad that our companies are involved in this work. This Center is a joint project of the government of the Sverdlovsk region and the UMMC company. The main goal of its implementation is the improvement of the educational process, the introduction of new methods in the training of specialists. The Sverdlovsk Region is actively involved in the WirldSkills movement. All this makes our graduates in demand and directly affects the increase in labor productivity at our enterprises. I would like to thank UMMC and Andrei Anatolyevich Kozitsyn personally for cooperation in this direction, ”said the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Yevgeny Kuyvashev.
The agreement on the establishment of the Center between the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UMMC) and the Ministry of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk area was reached in 2019. UMMC financed the reconstruction of the building of training workshops with a total area of 2000 sq. m. for the amount of about 43 million rubles. The regional government allocated 84.7 million rubles for the purchase of equipment. To evaluate the demo exams, 20 line experts were trained, 16 of whom are highly qualified managers and specialists of the UMMC.
“Pupils, students, and current employees of the company have been involved in the system of continuous training of UMMC personnel for many years. The new Center, as well as the Palace of Technical Creativity, which will soon be opened in Verkhnyaya Pyshma - everything is perfectly tied into a single scheme. Such concentration of conditions for obtaining a modern high-quality engineering education can be found in few places, not only in the Sverdlovsk region, but also in the country. And this is a serious competitive advantage both for the UMMC and for the region as a whole, ”stressed UMMC General Director Andrey Kozitsyn.
The Center for Demonstration Exams in accordance with World Skills standards is equipped with equipment for conducting demo exams in 8 competencies: industrial automation, mechatronics, welding technologies, non-destructive testing, electrical installation, laboratory chemical analysis, maintenance of trucks, sheet metal processing. High-quality equipment, modern methods and the participation of practicing experts will make it possible to assess the level of training of college and technical school students, their practical skills and skills of working on modern equipment of the XXI century according to world standards.
The creation of such a Center in the Sverdlovsk Region will improve the quality of training college students in the specialties in demand, ensure the implementation of educational programs of secondary vocational education in accordance with the requirements of federal state educational standards, implement programs of additional vocational education and vocational training not only for students, but also for workers for industrial enterprises of the Urals.
In addition, the Center will become a modern training ground m for training participants and holding regional and national championships "Young Professionals" and will act as a platform for vocational guidance for schoolchildren.
The newly created Center harmoniously complements the system of training highly qualified personnel built together with UMMC. With its opening, the technical school "Yunost" becomes a modern educational complex of the Sverdlovsk region.
