120 seedlings of spherical willow were planted in the park of the Palace of Culture, which was renovated last year, provided by the Sredneuralskiy Copper Smelting Plant OJSC (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC). Another 110 young trees will be added next week. In total, 230 seedlings of brittle spherical willow will be planted in the park of the Palace of Culture this year within the framework of the UNESCO World Billion Trees Action.
- It's great that we began to equip such beautiful parks for our children and parents: with alleys, recreation areas and bike paths. Many thanks to SUMZ for that. Within the framework of the Agreement on interaction in the field of environmental protection with the enterprise, we have been working since 2011. This action is only a small part of a large complex work, which provides for land reclamation, and the restoration of the Chusovaya River, and the rehabilitation of public health, - noted the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Sverdlovsk Region Alexei Kuznetsov.
The trees were purchased from the breeding nursery of the village Aramil, in the nursery of the Forestry University (Severka settlement) and nurseries of the Chelyabinsk region. The seedlings are about five years old.
- What is happening in Revda is great! I remember this park, my childhood passed here. In a few years, these willows will grow, and there will be a wonderful place for the townspeople to rest, - said the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Sverdlovsk region Alexander Serebrennikov.
- Do you remember how we started the reconstruction in this park, how many were dissatisfied, for every tree was criticized, - noted the director of SUMZ Bagir Abdulazizov. - Now a real center of attraction for active recreation of the residents of Revda is being formed here, this is an example of creating a truly comfortable urban environment.
The planted trees are unpretentious, withstand severe frosts and summer heat. This is an ornamental willow variety that is actively used in landscape design; on average, the trees grow up to 6 meters. After planting the willows, specialists will form the crowns. The municipality and the leadership of the Palace of Culture will organize supervision and care of young trees: watering, feeding, protection from pests.

Since 2011, SUMZ JSC together with the All-Russian Society for Nature Conservation has supported the UNESCO Billion Trees initiative aimed at preserving biodiversity on the planet. During this time, more than 6.5 thousand seedlings of birch, pine, linden, willow, blue spruce and other trees have been planted in Revda and Pervouralsk. Provides charitable assistance in carrying out the "Operation" Ch ", a regional environmental campaign to clean up and plant trees in the Chusovaya river basin. Thanks to SUMZ, in 2017-2018, about 49 thousand spruce seedlings were planted on the banks of the Chusovaya.
