Metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore products and hot briquetted iron on the world market, one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, has purchased high-precision equipment for raw materials analysis and sample testing for the central laboratory of Ural Steel. The purchase was carried out as part of a five-year program for the development of the company's laboratory with a total cost of more than 700 million rubles.
“Our specialists now have access to two X-ray spectrometers, three automatic milling machines for the preparation of metal samples, two pendulum copra and an installation for determining the coking capacity of coals and coal charges, - says Vladimir Chizhov, head of the central laboratory of Ural Steel. - We work closely with our partners and customers and take into account their requirements for the certification of commercial products. The expansion of the laboratory's capabilities in this area strengthens the position of the Company and the enterprise in the market for high-quality steel grades. "
The purchased equipment is designed to control the production of sheet metal and commercial pig iron, to strengthen the incoming quality control of coal, coke, iron ore, sinter and pig iron. It ensures the speed and accuracy of the research, makes the work of laboratory technicians safer and more productive.
At the initial stage of the project, about 100 million rubles were invested in the purchase of a cantilever vertical milling machine, two surface grinding machines and three analyzers for determining sulfur and carbon in samples. Later, an isoperibolic calorimeter, an apparatus for determining the index of free swelling in a crucible, and a microhardness tester were purchased.
