A new block transformer substation 2BKTP-400- has been put into operation in the power shop of the "Production of polymetals " (PPM) JSC "Uralelectromed " (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex) 6 /0.4. The cost of the equipment exceeded 7 million rubles.
- The substation was installed to replace the obsolete one. It supplies electricity to the equipment of the compressor station of the power plant, which generates compressed air for the entire industrial site of the PPM. The facility meets all the requirements for safe operation. The substation is equipped with microprocessor protection, which ensures speed and reliability, says Sergey Korotkov, Deputy Chief Power Engineer of PPM.
The substation is equipped with two dry-type cast resin transformers, which are environmentally friendly (the old one was equipped with oil transformers). And also 6 kV gas-insulated and two-section 0.4 kV switchgears. Dry-type transformers have natural air cooling and completely eliminate the possibility of environmental pollution, for example, oil leakage, which occurs when using oil transformers. In addition, the installed equipment has high fire safety: cast insulation is not subject to ignition and has self-extinguishing properties. Maintenance of dry transformers is much easier than oil transformers. They do not require adding and oil change, regular cleaning of insulation.
The installation of the new substation was carried out by the specialists of the power department. First, the foundation was made, the earthing device was installed, the basement part was installed. Then the building of the station was mounted, transformers were installed and cable lines for 6 and 0.4 kV were laid.
After completing the required equipment tests, Rostechnadzor inspectors issued a permit for admission to operation.
