The new production department of the power shop will allow Uralelectromed JSC (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex) to improve the reliability of power supply to the enterprise (including branches), to monitor the consumption of energy resources in in real time mode, promptly manage the energy sector, coordinate the actions of personnel in the event of emergency situations.
The dispatch point is organized in the building of the 110/6 kV "Electromed" substation. The workplace consists of a video panel displaying electronic mnemonic diagrams of the operation of electrical substations of the main site, the branches of Polymetals Production (Kirovgrad), Non-ferrous Metal Alloys Production (Verkh-Neyvinsky), a central boiler house, compressor and pumping stations and other power supply facilities. Information from the automated systems of Uralelectromed JSC is an operational tool for energy consumption management.
- We have been thinking about creating our own control center for a long time. The operational transformation process helped speed up the project, motivating the team to find any innovations that improve our work. First, a business case was developed. We saw that only by increasing control over the consumption of energy resources, we would be able to save about 200 thousand rubles a month. Then they formalized the initiative and during September-November they launched the facility, '' said Deputy Chief Power Engineer Andrei Rubtsov.
Experts from the Energy Department, the Power Shop, the Engineering and Production Department, the Development Department and Electronic systems (UES). Thus, Nikolay Tcherezov, the leading electrical engineer of the UES, drew mnemonic diagrams and visualized them on displays. All work was carried out without additional financial costs. The personnel issue was resolved due to the redistribution of job duties and workload between the workers of the operational and technical service of the power department.
The next step is to refine, expand the functionality of the mnemonic diagrams for compressor, fuel oil facilities, for main energy consumers and energy facilities.
- The result of this work will be an increase in the reliability and controllability of the energy facilities of the enterprise, significant savings in finances and labor costs, - said Chief Power Engineer Alexander Belousov.
