Eco-activists of the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant and the Green City have been greening urban areas for the second year. It is planned to plant about 500 ornamental plants for the summer period. Environmental activists select landing sites in advance. Priority is given to those areas where there is a shortage of green spaces.
The first tree planting took place on the territory of the park near the palace of culture of the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant. In accordance with the landscape features, planting material is carefully selected for planting, and not small seedlings, but already full-fledged trees and shrubs. These are Siberian spruce, Canadian maple, spherical willow, red-leaved apple tree and others. Such plant species take root well in the harsh conditions of the Ural climate.
A large-scale campaign to improve and create a comfortable urban environment has become a tradition and the next stage of the joint project of ChMK and the Green City. Since the end of April, the plant's activists with a team of environmental activists have organized more than 20 subbotniks in the adjoining territories, put in order playgrounds and recreation areas.
