Metalloinvest, a leading manufacturer and supplier of iron ore products and hot briquetted iron (HBI) in the world market, one of the regional producers of high-quality steel, has launched a reduction and sizing unit (RKB) at the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant (OEMK) ) on the mid-section line of mill 350 in the rolling shop No. 2.
Investments in the project amounted to more than 600 million rubles. As a result of the modernization, OEMK's 350 rolled mill shipments will increase by 67 thousand tons per year.
The new unit ensures high accuracy of compliance with the required geometric parameters of each steel billet, with a tolerance for the diameter of round bars from 0.15 mm. RKB is capable of producing hot-calibrated round-section rolled products at billet temperatures from 950 ºС.
German SMS Group was the supplier of the main technological equipment for the RSC. The design and estimate documentation was developed by the Gipromez Institute, which is part of Metalloinvest.

The rental of SEC # 2 is used in machine-tool and automobile manufacturing, tool and bearing production, metal structures for petrochemicals, bridges, offshore platforms.
