The LOTO system eliminates potentially dangerous situations associated with unauthorized supply of all types of energy (natural gas, electricity, hot water and steam) during repairs or maintenance.
The procedure involves disconnecting the power supply to equipment, blocking the power source in a certain position, posting a tag with information about the time, type of work and the person in charge. To lock the blocker, individual keys are used, which are placed in a special closed box until the completion of the repair work.
“The use of the LOTO system will provide us with additional protection, significantly reduce the impact of the human factor,” said Mikhail Kobzev, head of the plant's health and safety department. - A new technology for labor protection and industrial safety was introduced at the beginning of this year at the DKVR boiler of boiler house No. 1 of the Mikhailovsky GOK power center. A decision has already been made in 2021 to continue the implementation of the project and extend it to the entire section of the Industrial Boiler House No. 1 of the power center. In the future, the project will gradually cover all structural divisions of MGOK. "
