Industrial tours for adults and children started at MMK in 2018. Due to the threat of the spread of COVID-19 in 2020, excursions were replaced by virtual visits to the metallurgical plant. The outlined real improvement in the epidemiological situation made it possible to resume excursions in April this year.
Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Plant is the only ferrous metallurgy enterprise in Russia that conducts excursions on the industrial site for children aged 6 to 14 years. Children can travel along the routes "Dad at Work" and "On a Visit to Metallurgists", which includes a visit to the scientific and technical museum of PJSC "MMK" and a bus tour around the plant. The guide's story about the past, present and future of MMK is accompanied by illustrations and showing video clips about specific metallurgical processes. Adult excursionists are offered the routes "Taming the Fire" and "Steel Evolution". Guests can visit the existing workshops of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works and the Science and Technology Museum. To date, more than 15 thousand people have visited MMK, including about 2.5 thousand children.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum also presented the project of the multifunctional park "Attraction", initiated and funded by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PJSC MMK, Viktor Rashnikov. As part of the creation of the park "Attraction" in Magnitogorsk, it is planned to comprehensively develop an area of about 400 hectares. A large-scale and in many ways unique for Russia project for the development of this territory will create a qualitatively new urban environment, create new opportunities for self-development of citizens, sports and art, their education and health improvement.
