The UMMC Technical University celebrated the beginning of the academic year and awarded employees of the company's organizations for their successes in the field of education and science.
A traditional holiday, the Corporate Day of Knowledge, took place in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. It is timed to the birthday of the UMMC Technical University, opened in 2013. In 2020, the holiday was canceled due to the pandemic, but a year later they returned to the full-time format. In 2021, it is celebrated by about 700 students of the UMMC University, more than 325 of them are full-time students, including 60 freshmen, who today have become part of a single UMMC team.
The solemn event, organized on the site in front of the university in the open air, was opened by UMMC General Director Andrey Kozitsyn: life. Engineering education is a promising, and most importantly, a very serious, interesting and responsible direction. An understanding of the importance of this work will come to you through the knowledge that you will receive at the Technical University, through your teachers, through the practices that will take place in your enterprises. Without engineers, there will not be everything that we are used to in our daily life: heat, light and much more. Our task is to make our products work effectively for people. I would also like to wish each of you to learn how to be an engineer in your own life. Happy knowledge Day! Everything is in your hands! ".

At the corporate Knowledge Day, the results of the competition for the title of the Best corporate teacher for the 2020-2021 academic year were summed up. Today, the teaching staff of the university includes about 160 corporate teachers who are involved both in the implementation of advanced training programs and in the training courses of higher education programs. Earlier, the winners and prize-winners of this competition were employees of LLC UGMK-Holding, JSC Uralelectromed, JSC Uralmekhanobr. This year the following were named the best:
- Bichukina Irina Albertovna, head of the environmental department, head of the ecology department of JSC Svyatogor;
- Natalia Lokteeva, Deputy Director for Energy for Energy Efficiency, UMMC;
- Erypalova Evgeniya Sergeevna, Head of the Department of Construction Economics and Investment Projects, JSC UMMC.
During the event, specialists working with children and schoolchildren were also noted. Thus, letters of thanks were received by 11 experts from UMMC enterprises who took part in the work of the summer design school "TechnoLider". Let us remind you that authors of the best projects of the UMMC Engineering competition are invited to this school, in which 1400 students and schoolchildren from the territories of the company's presence took part since 2017.
Generation of new knowledge and generalization of the company's production experience goes in all directions. This is reflected in the candidate and doctoral dissertations of its employees. To date, 227 candidates and 22 doctors of sciences are already working in the UMMC organizations (the majority are in the UMMC TU and Uralmekhanobr JSC). Over the past year, despite the pandemic suspension of the work of many dissertation councils in the country, Svetlana Elnikova, a senior researcher at the ore preparation department of JSC "Uralmekhanobr ", defended her dissertation, was awarded a Ph.D. degree and was awarded a Certificate of Honor.
