What you should pay attention to
There are several typical situations that signal to passengers and the owner of elevator equipment that the equipment is soon will refuse. An elevator rarely fails suddenly. As a rule, this is preceded by the following technical situations:
- extraneous mechanical sounds during cab movement;
- creating of opening doors, not fully open doors;
- the elevator does not stop at the same level as the floor;
- periodic sudden stops of the cabin while moving;
- the cabin moves with the doors open.
In all these cases, continuing to operate the lifting equipment is prohibited. The elevator must be shown to a specialist so that he can determine the true cause of the breakdown. I fixed it, using only original components for this purpose.
Other reasons for diagnosing an elevator
If a water leak occurs in a building, in the immediate vicinity of an escalator or elevator, the equipment must be disconnected from the network and perform an unscheduled inspection. Overloading, network surges, and transportation of unsuitable cargo also indicate that the equipment needs additional inspection to ensure there are no technical damages.
